I BELIEVE That is Rusty in Our Room!!!!!!

Surprise, surprise!!!! Mr. Rusty May from our CC Meeting morning show showed up in person today. He is in town for a few assemblies and stopped by to surprise our class. How cool is that!!! We are soooo lucky to have him influencing us each day. What a positive person in all of our lives.

We took a practice quiz today to do 50 basic multiplication problems in 3 minutes just to see where we were at. Yikes, Yikes, and Triple Yikes! I beg, beg, beg you to get some flashcards and study each and every night with these kiddos. Math is about to become very frustrating with double digit multiplication and long division when the basic 0x0 through 12 x 12 are not mastered. I still have so many that only know 26 out of 110 addition facts. Please do xtramath daily for homework even if I don't assign it. Kids need to exit out of this and move onto subtraction. It all builds on the skill before.

The presentations in SS today were HILARIOUS!!! I am bummed that I did not record them for you. I was grading while watching. Drats! Take it from me, they were funny and we learned a lot. Love that when kids don't have a lot of rules and restrictions on HOW to present that they have creativity and fun doing it. Well done on that Common Core State Standard skill 4th graders! We will test out of Ch. 3 tomorrow. It will be an open book test, but if they were watching the presentations, they won't need to use their books that much.

Tuesday Folders came home today. Please return the fitness club permission forms and ONLY the report card cover. You can keep everything inside it. Don't forget to sign it. Thanks.

Homework tonight is DynaMath, pages 12-15. They need to read and complete all problems on those pages. I would also like them to go back and read pages 10-11, but they don't have to do the division work, as we have not learned that yet. (They may if they want to though).

Have a wonderful night!
Ms. Erickson
