I Have Failed Many Times, and That Is Why I Am a Success. Michael Jordan

Hello there. I hope you all survived the winter weekend. I, for one, was more than smiling when the sun made an appearance today. I was also happy that we did not get the freezing rain during the morning commute. The roads were icy but that I can handle.

During CC Meeting this morning Caden and Riley shared their fun times at the Harlem Globetrotters game last night. Caden even got to go out on the court and be part of the show. Wow!!!! When I was a little girl it was always my dream to become the first woman globetrotter. Then, they got an African American girl. So, I wanted to be the first white girl player. Not sure what they have now, but sadly that dream is no longer in my head. :0( I loved them when I was a kid. So funny and so, so talented! I will have to take my kiddos one day too.

Riley also shared some other things as he was star of the week last week. He forgot on Friday, so he did it today. Problem was, I forgot my camera. :0( He shares some great memories like puppets, San Francisco souvenirs, a fun hat, and a cool little basketball hoop game that looked quite challenging. It was great seeing Riley share with his peers, and they were very in tune to what he was sharing.

We finished up CC meeting by watching the videos of the cows and a fun Irish story. What a fun Montana History lesson. They had a lot of great questions about what is this or how does that work. It was fun to share that part of life with them. The Irish story was an old legend. It was Cinderella, but with an Irish twist. In Cinderella, the lost shoe was a glass slipper. The one in this legend was three colors. Ask your child what they were. If they can share with you, write the three colors in the planner for $10 tomorrow. In our version the main character was Cinderella. What was the name of the girl in the Irish story today? Write it in the planner also for another $10.

We sure missed quite a few kids today. We hope that Abi, Spencer, and Trevor are feeling better or are away having fun! Be safe and hope to see you back soon. Class just isn't the same without everyone here! :0)

Homework tonight is from Mrs. Auch. Kids watched a movie and took some notes in science class today on simple machines. They now have a packet assessment to show mastery of the types of simple machines.

We played our game boards today in Social Studies. How creative these kids are! I enjoyed playing one on one with many kids and seeing all that they learned. I will now grade them, using their grade expectation sheets. Hopefully you got to play them too this weekend. Isn't it neat to just sit and allow them to share all that they learn and think is interesting. I am always amazed at how their minds work.

This Thursday is Family Fun Night at Arrowhead. Families are welcome to come help paint some murals that will be displayed around Arrowhead hallways. It is from 6:30-7:30. Em, Beau, and I will be here with our paint clothes on. Sounds fun to me!!!!

Tennis shoes are needed for tomorrow's PE/Health class.

Remember, there are NO spelling tests this week. It is a review week.

I leave you tonight with an amazing quote by a Globetrotter…

Have a  fantastic night!
