Parent Showcase Tomorrow at 6:30 P.M.

Hello there!

Brrrrrrrr!!!! And, it is only going to get worse. 20 below on Wednesday! Yikes. Bundle up, we will still be having school. Gotta love Montana. My sister is a teacher in NC and they had a chance of snow last week and got the day off. NO FAIR!!!!! Not, in Montana. We come no matter what! Remember, if it is below zero we will NOT go outside for recess.

Tomorrow is the first day of Mr. Pertuit's Fitness Club. It is right after school until 3:50. Please pick up kids promptly. Water bottles and tennis shoes are a must. Kids must have a signed permission slip turned in to participate. It is not too late to join. Just bring your slips tomorrow. Remember, you don't have to come every time. Just come when you can!!!! What a great way to get your hour of exercise for our class team the Buff Believers!

Homework tonight is to write an RLJ check in to Ms. Erickson. Kids need to write at least a half of a page to me. They can write about whatever they want. This is their time to just share whatever is on their mind with me. I will write every child back. They also need to record their exercise time and how many servings of fruits and veggies they ate today. Many kids had corn and salad at lunch today. Right on kiddos!!!! Remember, a serving is one fist full of fruit or vegetable. If you cut up an apple into five slices, it is not 5 servings. It is one. We had some confusion this morning. Kids need to write it down in their planner tonight.

We all got to meet our new student, Adelaide today. She fit in just like I knew she would. Ask your child where she came to us from. If they can tell you, write the name of the state in the planner for $10.
We are so lucky to have her!!!!

Today, we had an amazing guest speaker. Mr. Buer was a guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery. He is the only one in Montana!!!! He shared with us what life was like for 9 months doing this great honor. I had no idea what they had to do in order to be a guard. Amazing! He also shared a photo with us of the first African American to serve this duty. Ask your child what his name was. If they can tell you, write it in the planner for $10 tomorrow. Also, how many female soldiers have guarded the Tomb? Write that in the planner for another $10. Truly an honor to have this man come talk to us. It was so, so interesting. A big thank you to Quin in Mrs. Auch's class for bringing him in for us! Yay Quin!!!!

Tomorrow night is our Civil Right's Showcase. Please make a point of coming if you RSVP'd that you were. We are doing skits and if one person doesn't come, it makes it hard the kids to share or do their skit for you. I have it recorded that all students except Taryn, Nicolas, Riley, Tyler, and Adelaide are coming. If that has chanced please write me a note in the planner. I can arrange groups if I know early enough. The weather will be worse, so please plan ahead to arrive at time. It should go for about an hour or so. Hour and a half tops. It starts at 6:30. Be prepared to be entertained by your kiddos! They have worked so hard on all the projects they completed.

Well, that about covers today's events. Drive safe and have a warm night!
