Hi there.
I CAN'T wait to see all of you tonight. I am not sure who is more excited…me or the kids to share with you all that we have learned in the past couple of weeks for Civil Right's Week. Please show up around 6:25 so you can get your snacks to munch on during the showcase. We talked today, how it would be disrespectful to get up in the middle of a sharing and get snacks or throw something away. There will be a lot of fun treats to eat and drink with a black + white theme! Cya soon!
Everyone was able to easily buy into the Valentine's Day Party. So, everyone will be allowed to attend and have a great time. Does your child have their box ready? I found an example to share if you are lacking in ideas or confused. Kids need to bring them on Feb. 13th along with their valentine's cards to pass out. New lists came out today in the Tuesday folder.
This past weekend, we had a few kids competing in different things. Haylee was in a cheer competition. Doesn't she look fabulous! Well done Miss. Haylee! Chase and Ty were in Bozeman at the lego robotics competition. They did AWESOME! What a talented group of kiddos we have at Arrowhead, especially in Ms. Erickson's class. :0)
How are those read a thin pledges coming? Kids need to bring their envelopes back this Friday to check for award winning numbers. Kids in my class also earn $10 for every pledge they obtain. Double yay!!! Everyone got the first prize today for just participating. It is in the Tuesday folders.
There is no homework tonight due to the showcase tonight. Kids do need to quickly log down their exercise and fruit.\ veggie servings in their planners however. Also, and this is not a joke, kids need to put deodorant on tonight before they go to bed. In CC meeting we learned how and when to apply it. According to the experts, the best time to apply deodorant is before bed. The worst time is right after you get out of the shower!!! So, we are going to try to see if the experts are correct. We also learned that they should go up and down five times under each pit. So, why did we learn this? Well, we have had a few that have a B.O. odor. I refuse to point out who, so I just did a whole group lesson. Bodies are changing in the 4th grade. Sweat rolls and odors appear. Let's help everyone to be smelling good and happy. Please refrain from Axe body sprays or perfumes. For one, I get instant headaches/migraines from these and it distracts the learning process. Just a simple basic deodorant works best at this age. Thanks!
If you attend the showcase tonight, please write MLK in the planner for $50 tomorrow.
Have a fantastic time tonight!
Ms. Erickson
